What do the letters “MA CCC-SLP” after your name mean?
To become a Speech Language Pathologists, we must hold a bachelors degree, complete a competitive and intensive two year masters program (MA), acrue 400 direct clinical hours working with clients, pass comprehensive exams to graduate, pass Praxis board exam, and complete 1260 hours clinical fellowship before receiving a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).

    Treatment for articulation errors, like lisps and “r” distortions, phonological disorders (consistent patterns of sound substitutions and omissions), and motor based speech disorders, like Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and Dysarthria.

  • L A N G U A G E

    Treatment for oral expression like language delay, specific language impairement, langauge delay, expressive and receptive delays. Components of language making multi-word sentences, story-telling, vocabulary, spoken language comprehension, following directions, grammar, the use of pronouns, social language, and executive functioning.

  • E V A L U A T I O N S

    Evaluations are conducted in order to determine specific areas of weakness with a child's speech and/or language skills. Evaluations are typically 1-1.5 hours and involve observations of play and more structured activities geared toward eliciting the child’s strengths and needs.   • P R E K C L A S S E S

    Engaging and interactive preschool lessons focused on speech and language developmental milestones and preliteracy skills, like phonological awareness and sound-letter learning. Classes can be conducted in French and English.

  • T E L E H E A T H

    We offer fun and engaging tele-sessions for children with a variety of communication delays. Tele-sessions incorporate the child’s home environment and use a variety of creative, engaging activities such as the use of a green screen.

  • B I L I N G U A L

    Bilingual treatment is for children that are native speakers of English and French. It is important to note that a child will show issues in both languages if there is a true speech or language disorder. Sessions are typically split 50/50 English/French for best outcomes.

  • S C R E E N I N G S

    We provide screenings in order to help identify children who may be at risk for speech and language issues. A screening indicates if further, formal evaluation is needed. Following our screenings, we consult with parents to determine the appropriate next steps.

  • P R E K S E R V I C E S

    For a limited number of clients, we are able to accommodate speech therapy services at the child’s preschool site if parents wish. We will work with your child in the classroom or in another room if available.

  • W O R K S H O P S

    We provide fun and informative workshops focused on parent coaching. We show parents how to incorporate engaging and enriching activities in their daily routines to increase their child’s use of language.
