Fees
Therapy is always based on current research and driven by the needs and interests of our clients and families. We work together to make a plan for your child that fits your family. Our goal is to help your child gain or regain skills to improve their quality of life.
Our practice offers several options for evaluations.
For children with speech concerns only seeking treatment right away: We can do an informal evaluation for the purposes planning and starting therapy as soon as possible. The informal evaluation includes a 2-page summary.
If your child has already been evaluated, a second evaluation is not necessary. We will review the evaluation and then together we will determine a therapy program to best address areas of concern.
For other speech, language, executive functioning, and literacy concerns, we offer comprehensive evaluations with a full written report.
Progress happens much more quickly with private therapy and the number of sessions needed will depend on several factors: the severity of the delay/disorder, the child’s temperament, working on skills at home, and the connection between the child and the therapist. Since we focus on children with mild to moderate language delays, speech sound disorders, executive functioning skills, and literacy skills, some children may only need 12-36 sessions to make significant gains in skills and/or to remediate their speech sound difficulties.

*An evaluation is performed by a certified Speech Language Pathologist to determine current strengths and weaknesses. You will receive a complete written evaluation report, complete with formal assessment results, informal observations, background information, and recommendations.
Session fee is determined by the clinical expertise and certifications of the therapist.
To become a Speech Language Pathologists, we must hold a bachelors degree, complete a competitive and intensive two year masters program, acrue 400 direct clinical hours working with clients, pass comprehensive exams to graduate, pass Praxis board exam, and complete 1260 hours clinical fellowship before receiving a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).

Billing
Alexis Fernandez Speech Therapy does not currently accept insurance. While we do not take insurance at this time, we are able to provide a monthly statement (aka “superbill” or “paid invoice”) which you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement upon request.
Payment is due at the time of service. Types of payments accepted: check, cash, credit or debit card, and online payment methods.

Insurance Information
Alexis Fernandez Speech Therapy is a private-pay practice with a fee-for-service model. We are considered out-of-network and are not affiliated with any insurance companies. Many insurance plans may reimburse you for a portion of your out-of-pocket costs, so always check with your provider to see how much they will cover. Any reports or progress updates required by your insurance company for reimbursement of services will be billed at an hourly rate of $80.
Please check with your specific plan ahead of time to understand any deductibles, out-of-network reimbursement rates and copays.

Cancellation Policy
The full session fee will be billed for no-shows and for sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. The fee will be waived in cases of emergency or inclement weather.
