Alexis Fernandez Speech Therapy is a small, private practice serving the Maryland and D.C. area. Alexis is a certified, bilingual English-French speech-language pathologist who has a special interest in the evaluation and treatment of pediatric language and pediatric speech sound disorders, including phonological disorders and articulation deficits. Alexis graduated with a master’s in speech language pathology and a certificate as a bilingual service provider from the University of Maryland, College Park. In 2020-21, Alexis worked for Montgomery County Public Schools as a speech language pathologist where she worked with PreK-5th grade. Alexis is now a telehealth specialist and green screen master.

To become a Speech Language Pathologists, we must hold a bachelors degree, complete a competitive and intensive two year masters program, acrue 400 direct clinical hours working with clients, pass comprehensive exams to graduate, pass Praxis board exam after graduation, and complete 1260 hours in a clinical fellowship before receiving a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
